Most Business Owners make one simple mistake when it comes to marketing their product or service…
They try to sell to EVERYONE. And end up with little to no results.
After you finish reading this article, you will know why selling to everyone is like selling to no one and how to reach your exact target Audience.
Trying to Sell to everyone is like selling to no one.
The Problem is a lot of marketing that we grew up with or what we see is directed to the mass audience.
I mean, take a look at Coca-Cola or Apple, what they do is target everyone, everywhere at any time.
Now, these companies have a marketing budget of hundreds of millions of dollars… We don’t, I mean if you do then that’s good for you, but I surely don't.
So most businesses do exactly that. They try to sell to everyone and end up selling little to nothing.
And, we shouldn’t do that.
We don’t burn all our money, targeting everyone, everywhere and hoping some of them will buy our product or service.
I know, most business owners think that that’s the right path to go.
But every product and every service on this planet has its own unique group of customers.
So, we must first understand that our buyers ALWAYS have a bias, a bunch of “common traits” that influence their buying decisions.
When you send the “right message” to the “right people”, you instantly get more responses and that conversion you’re looking for.
So what do we do instead? We figure out who our Target Audience is and start targeting this exact group of people.
How to target your Ideal customer
The ideal outcome of our marketing is that the prospect sees the ad,
he raises his hand, and thinks; “Yes, this is for me, I want that. He understands my situation, he understands my problem…”
And converts from a prospect, into a paying client.
How do we reach that?
As I said before, every Product and every service has a certain group of customers, so instead of trying to sell to everyone and spending an unnecessary fortune on your ads.
Let us figure out who our audience is, and what language “they” speak.
What age are they? What gender is more likely to purchase?
Where do they live and how high is their income?
What are their interests? What hobbies do they have?
What problems are they facing? How will my product/service help them?
What type of offer would they make to purchase my product/service?
Do you think this is all? I ask that because I can tell you from experience, these are just the basic questions to answer…
If you want to get this all right, well…
There will be way more things to look out for.
I mean just for example:
"When you're a company selling garage doors then it's obvious that you should advertise to people with a house, in a certain area, with a certain age, income, A CAR, and on, and on, and on. You get the idea. "
Once you have a clear picture of your target audience, and you start advertising exactly to this group of people, your response rate will dramatically increase.
Get the most out of your Marketing
If you want to get the most out of your Marketing, what I'm sure you do.
Then you must understand who your Target Audience is, speak to people, do some general research, look over your reviews, and get a clear picture of who your buyer actually is.
And let me tell you if you get this right... You will have a clear advantage over your competitors.
