Believe it or not, most marketing is bad. Most businesses and also most marketing agencies have no idea what they're doing. In today's article, I am going to tell you what good marketing is and give you the core elements of it. Let’s get into it.

Let me start off by saying that just like good selling, good cooking or good speaking good marketing focuses on a couple of core elements if you get these right, you’re golden.

This is why this works in every language, every location, every market, and every type of business.

The reason for that is that marketing is the same for anything and anywhere, it focuses on the same core elements that you need to master, and once you have that…

The world is your oyster.

“Probably, also works on other planets, I don’t know if they market there but if they do…

I can guarantee you that they focus on the same core elements.”

The first core element

The Message

Your message needs to be clear, powerful, and persuasive, it needs to be compelling.

Maybe it can be intriguing, maybe it can be fascinating.

What that means is your message needs to cut through the clutter.

I mean this isn’t 1798 where people didn’t see an ad for days because they’re plowing the fields.

They get bombarded with ads day in and day out.

If your message doesn’t stand out and cuts through the clutter…

Looks bad let me tell you.

What to don’t do

Don’t be boring, you can’t say the same “shit” everyone is saying.

And please do not say, we're cheap, we’re the lowest price, we’re good.

You should never compete on price, this will break your neck at one point.

The second core element

Who are we selling to?

A business needs to know its target customer.

Now if you read my other article you already know how many businesses get this wrong…

You need to know for who your message is in order to get it to them.

It is impossible to come up with a message that speaks to everyone, and that actually gets the attention of everyone.

Now for example, if you sell blowtorches then you’re mostly selling to dudes.

So the marketing should be geared towards guys.

Of course, you will also have women wich buy it and that’s all good.

But your marketing needs to be geared towards the people who have the highest chance of converting to our offer.

There is a reason why the saying is  “Get woke, go broke”.

It’s not so much because of the wokeness, it’s because these companies.

A lot of the time gear, all their effort and all of their budget and all of their messages towards a group of people that couldn’t care less about them.

So if you want to sell, then you gear your message towards the group of people that is most likely to buy your stuff.

This is extremely important to be aware of.

So now we know what message we want to put out there, and who we want to reach…

How are we going to get our message to our target audience

How are we going to reach that group of people?

Which medium are we going to use and which media are we going to use?

How do we reach these people?

Now let me tell you…

This used to be extremely hard and time-consuming.

Good for us that we have social media, this makes it soooo much easier than it ever was before.

For some businesses it’s still not easy, that depends on your creativity.

If you need some help, I am happy to help you out. Just leave me a message.

Now, if you do the first two steps right, then social media makes it easier.

You can do it on a local scale, or you can see what their interests are.

In the past, you had to buy a whole list of addresses for it and do a direct mail campaign.

These days it’s much easier, especially if you do stuff like retargeting and audience segmentation.

If you get these three core elements right, then your marketing will be a success with any product and everywhere.

Now to figure all that out and run a campaign using that can be quite challenging. If you want us to have a look for FREE, contact us and we’ll have a conversation about what we can do for you.
